Chris Parkerson: Hobgood Electric is a company that’s been around since 1969. We are industrial electrical and mechanical all the way around. We have large electric motor repair capability where we can rewind and repair motors up to about 5,000 horsepower. The main customers that we service are pulp and paper, forestry products, steel manufacturing, chemical plants. We see a lot of different types of food and beverage industry that we deal with with here in the southeast.

Alyssa Stanton: We work with companies that you know of, that are very popular, that you don’t even think about what they do behind the scenes, it’s just like that show How It’s Made.

Chris Parkerson: We understand that time is very important and downtime is extremely expensive to plan. So we react quickly with our 24/7 around-the-clock service.

Alyssa Stanton: You call us, we’re going to answer. We’re going to get out there as soon as we can. We have a team that’s able to go and you know disconnect the motor, take the motor from the manufacturers to our shop where they fix the motor, then we can take it back and reinstall it. So we’re like a full-fledged package for motor repair.

Chris Parkerson: When we find failures we don’t just repair, we give a root cause or at least try to give a root cause failure analysis on everything so you know what the failure mode is so that you can address the root cause of the problem and not just the something. We also have a Technical Field Service group which does a lot of the troubleshooting, we’re an extension of a lot of our customers maintenance team if you will. We also have predictive maintenance analysis from motion amplification, to vibration analytics, to motor circuit analysis. We have an electrical contracting division where we can do everything from greenfield projects, building new plants, or to doing plan expansions.

Alyssa Stanton: Our people are experienced and knowledgeable. We have people who have have been doing this for 30 plus years. It’s amazing the knowledge they have.

Chris Parkerson: We’re small enough that we’re still much like a family. Everyone knows everyone, everyone takes the time to speak to everyone. We have a really good culture and we worked really hard in selecting people that wanted to join our team.

Alyssa Stanton: So you’ll notice our t-shirts and our trucks say reliability, repeatability, and results.

Chris Parkerson: We know that creating equipment reliable is going to make sure that you repeatedly do the right standards every single time.

Alyssa Stanton: I mean you’re going to notice, you’re going to see the difference. We’re going to make the difference in whatever problem you’re having. We’re going to provide results.
